Product Inquiry Product Inquiry Inika

On Inika I came mainly because this company provides a range vegan certified brush, after I had written to several companies in the higher price segment, and all a similar answer (we use squirrel hair / Sable hair / goat hair / etc. but nothing happened to the animals) had received and I am intrinsically accessible brushes for something (if I'm a good right, then I used it forever and like me not be separated, for the purchase of new, I am against too lazy even though I have lying around an inferior product), I came across Inika whose entire range is certified vegan. In short, I still do not brush, but I'm saving it, particularly the Kabuki hats done to me.
was used to certify the mark completely vegan, there are now a product that contains beeswax and honey, Lip Whip (see also below). However, there are vegan lipsticks, not cheap, but still.
Add to that the matter of the palm oil. I have asked a very direct and Inika Email received very friendly, I also would like to share.
For those who do not speak English: At the moment included the eyeliner from the RSPO certified palm oil, which leads Inika back to their Italian suppliers. As this company sees as a with the highest sustainability standards, is used from the next batch of palm oil is no longer to be sure that it actually comes from sustainable agriculture.
Overall, the Inika range consists of a fairly wide range, among other things, it is also a vegan mascara.
According to manufacturer, all products are free of petrochemicals, fillers, talc, Bismutchloridoxid, genetically modified ingredients, preservatives, mineral oils, phthalates and fragrances. To order online
this brand among other things, at
Ecco verde
or direct sales from Australia

As I said, Inika is not exactly cheap, I'm going to buy soon at least one brush that mark. Right now I'm waiting for my Lily Lolo order and hope that my search for a viable and suitable Foundation has done it first.

Hello xxx,

Thank you for your inquiry, We are well aware

of the palm oil controversy as a cosmetics company absolutely committed to Upholding the highest ethics in everything we do.
Our new Inika certified organic eyeliners are produced in Italy through a highly regarded supplier.  Upon receiving their proposed ingredients list and samples, we saw that the liners contained palm oil – which we obviously were extremely concerned about. The company assured us that the palm oil used in the formulations was Certified by the RSPO.  Upon receiving verification of this certification, we went ahead and placed our first order earlier this year.
Since then, the international media have conducted investigations into the RSPO and raised questions about the validity of its certification process. Given that Inika is one of the strictest cosmetic's companies in the world when it comes to the integrity of our ingredients, we are not prepared to continue to use this RSPO certified palm oil and will be changing the formulation for our next batch of liners.
Inika will NOT use palm oil in our products in the future unless we can be assured 100% of its sustainability.
Inika remains a company wholeheartedly committed to preserving our precious environment and the animals that reside within it. Should you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact us directly.

Hope you have a wonderful day.

Kind Regards,

xxx
Sales and Customer Service

There is one product line in the Inika range of 84 that includes animal derivatives (honey and beeswax) and that product is the certified organic Lip Whip .

We have talked extensively with the Vegan Society in regard to this issue and they have backed our decision that Inika must clearly states that this product is not suitable for vegans. Please note this is the only product line in our range that is NOT vegan.
The decision to use honey and beeswax came down to product quality. We could make the lip whip without honey, however the product falls below Inika’s quality standards. The Vegan Society’s input was based on the fact that this is only one product out of an entire range, the ingredients are certified organic and we have stated clearly that this product is not vegan.

The Vegan Society appreciate that we are continually doing all we can to Ensure quality of products and Maintaining our ethics. They have also made changes to Inika's certification status and Inika have classed as a combination of vegan and non vegan products. Please be assured that we do not make these decisions lightly and that we aim to Provide top quality products with an ethical stance.
